Pain Clinic Community Meeting: Thursday, January 7th

Many of you have heard about the pain clinic opening at 1124 N. Broadway in the old labor union building. The clinic will provide treatment for spine and neck pain and will provide medically assisted treatment for opioid addiction. The clinic will be run by Dr. Chavin who currently operates a similar clinic in Morristown. Dr. Chavin recently moved to Knoxville and will close his Morristown clinic to work exclusively at his new Knoxville clinic.
To provide the North Knoxville community with a better understanding of his clinic and his services, Dr. Chavin reached out to Fourth + Gill President Liz Upchurch asking to schedule a community meeting. Dr. Chavin agreed to meet on Thursday, January 7th at 7pm at Central United Methodist Church located at 201 E. Third Avenue; we will meet in the church’s yellow hall, which is the same room where election day voting takes place.
The meeting will provide an opportunity to hear Dr. Chavin describe his practice and the patients he serves, and we will have a Q+A session following his presentation. We hope you will attend the January 7th meeting and will help spread the word throughout your respective communities.
If you have questions or feedback, please contact us at the contacts listed below.

Spring Cleanup: Saturday, March 29th at 9:00am

Come out this Saturday morning for the annual Spring Cleanup. It’s time to make the neighborhood look great for the Dogwood Arts Festival and the Knoxville Marathon!

Meet at the traffic circle at 9:00am for coffee and donuts before setting out to spruce up the streets. Bring the usual gardening supplies- pitchforks, shovels, rakes, gloves, etc.

This year, we are having a post-cleanup party on the 1100 block of Gratz. Bring a snack to share, and anyone (21 or over) who contributes at least 90 minutes to the cleanup gets first run at the keg! The party will be a great way to end the cleanup and enjoy time with your neighbors.

See you Saturday!

7th Annual Tour de Lights

Hey, y’all!

This is just a heads up about a slight change in the details around this year’s Tour de Lights bike ride, which passes through 4th & Gill. Please see information relayed by the fabulous Kelley Segars below:

“Due to the high attendance, KPD and event organizers agreed that we needed to move to a closed parade route instead of the leap-frog control of major intersections. We were getting spread out too far and people were getting left behind to deal with major intersections without KPD assistance. So please be aware that the route will be closed to all traffic from about 7 p.m. til about 8:15 p.m., depending on where along the route you are. KPD says they will allow cars to move through if there is a break in the parade (ride).  “

Thank You, Friends of Fourth & Gill!

The Fourth & Gill 2013 Tour of Homes was a great success Sunday, April 28th, thanks in no small part to the superhuman efforts of the Tour of Homes planning committee members and their volunteers. Way to go, y’all!

We had a pretty respectable turnout despite the deluge that began the day before and continued throughout the first half of the tour. A very special thanks to all our visitors who braved the weather and supported our very fine neighborhood!
